Technology description:

Indacaterol/glycopyrronium (QVA-149, QAB-149/NVA-237) is a fixed dose combination of indacaterol, a long-acting β2-adrenoceptor agonist (LABA), and glycopyrronium, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA). LABA and LAMA bronchodilators are already available separately to manage the symptoms of COPD. QVA-149 combines indacaterol and glycopyrronium (110µg and 50µg respectively) in a single-dose once daily dry powder inhaler, delivered via the currently available Breezhaler.

If licensed, QVA-149 would be the first available inhaler combining both LABA and LAMA bronchodilators, removing the requirement to use two separate inhalers where clinically appropriate.
